The event attracted over 500 horses and 250 competitors including a number of interstate competitors from Queensland who ventured over the border to Tamworth for the event where seven state titles were decided. North & North West Show Jumping club threw their support behind the event and contributed greatly to the manpower and overall success of the event. All seven 2012 titles went to female riders, proving that Equestrian sport is one where men and women truly are equal competitors.
The four days of competition began on Thursday with the Oaks Medallion Young Horse Classes. Young horse classes in Australia continue to develop, supported by breeding programs from significant studs such as Oaks Sport Horses. David Robertson's Dusky Farm Smoko won the 5 year old class. Yandoo Equestrian were winners in both the 6 year old class with Yandoo Cleopatra and the 7 year old class with Yandoo Sputnik NZPH, both piloted by Jamie Winning. The finals for the young horse events will be held at the prestigious Summer Classic in December.

The Equestrian NSW Young Rider Championship incorporated the Tekna Young Rider Series. Jack Maunder and Cyra won round 1, James Arkins and Dreamtime Invader won the Tekna leg and Queenslander Sarah McMillan and Belcam Armada won the final round. Sarah's consistent performance on Queen of Diamonds over the three days, 3rd, 6th and 2nd, won her the Young Rider Championship.

The Yirrkala Stud Junior Championship competition had nearly 40 combinations entered. Just four combinations were clear in day one's speed class with Queenslander Kate Hinschen the fastest on Not Over winning the class in a time of 67.47 seconds. Brooke Langbecker was second with He's Henry ahead of Kirrily Man on Yandoo Aphrodites and Georgie Grove on Nawarrah Park Austin Powers. Jake Hunter and Midnight Rock were the fastest of the four faulters to finish in 5th place. Brooke won the second competition with Riverside Freedom Jessica Knox won the final round with Yirrkala El Rado. Kate continued to place over the next two rounds with a third and a second and was awarded the Junior Champion with Brooke the runner up.

The hotly contested Equine World Amateur Championship, featuring a round in the Jumping NSW Amateur of the Year series, had rounds one and two won by Sarah Blumson and Hendrickson and round three won by Katy Penman and Cabezo. Melissa Blair and Flying Teddy were the overall winners of the Championship with Sarah runner up.

The Championship decider of the Lenton Family 1.15m Championship 1.15m round was held indoors on Saturday afternoon. Monique Barrett won the class in a great time of 42.92 seconds on CP Fleur de Lyse giving her the Championship title. Maddison Stephen was the runner up with Yalambi's Cambridge placing 5th in the final competition. Chris, Liz and Chloe Lenton joined Edwena Mitchell to award Monique Barret and CP Fleur De Lyse the first of the gorgeous tartan rugs.

The final round of the Winning Appliances 1.25 Championship was held on Sunday with five riders through to the second phase. Jess Brown was victorious on Equus Echo. Bridget Hansen and Shakespeare NZPH was second ahead of Coco Miles on EMCEE Gwynedd. Mitch Brown returned to the line up for fourth and Harry Owens joined them on Valondra in fifth place. Coco Miles's consistent performance gave her the Winning Appliances 1.25m Championship title with equal second to Daniel Engbers and Jess Brown.

The final round of the Rider's Cup 1.35m Championship, sponsored by a number of NSW leading riders and coaches, was an exciting event decided by some amazing lines ridden in the jump off. George Johnson's great partnership with Wondaree Sprite gave him a .05 second victory over Vicki Roycroft and Noblewood Park Casino Royale. Daniel Engbers and Untouchable were third, Robert Moffat and AEA Orox fourth, Jennifer Wood and Sweetshot were 5th and Jess Brown on Yirkalla Zakyra was sixth. The Championship title was awarded to Vicki Roycroft and NP Casino Royale with a tie for second going to George and Jess.

The Tripp Family and Jumping NSW Senior Championship Title was the feature event of the show. The tracks built by Leeson Sirett were big and challenging, creating some exciting competitions for the spectators watching the action in the indoor.

The final class held on Sunday afternoon had just two clears in the first round, Tom McDermott on his new ride Cumo Z and Sharon Slater on her lovely CP Ulixes. Five combinations were taken in to the second phase where Merrick Ubank and Evie Buller left all the rails up to put pressure on Tom to keep the jumps intact. Tom's unflappable ability saw him not only go clear but do so in the fastest time of the round, giving him victory in the class. Sharon Slater, who finished in third place behind Tom and Evie, was the most consistent rider over the three rounds to win the Senior Championship with Evie Buller runner up.
