I have a bay mini gelding who has a blaze that extends down around and under his mouth. He has 2 blue eyes. The people who we got him from said (I think) that his father was a 'framed overo'.

I need to sell him and need to know how I describe him :-)

Many thanks
A

He sounds like he could be a Sabino :)

As he is a gelding and I assume unreg, just describe him as you see him. His overo history only matters if you are planning to breed.

The markings are sabino, but I don't think the blues eyes are a Sabino trait. Helpful huh?!
Teddy not playing nicely again??!! :-(

Semi helpful :-)

No, Teddy is fine, it's just that we bought him to be a mate to Teddy, and that didn't work out, so there is no need to keep him.

I'd say a minimal sabino (bare in mind I'm still learning about it) but could the blue eyes come from a dilute gene perhaps? Is he certainly a bay and not a burnt buckskin?

The blue eyes come from the frame overo parent.

Well there ya go! I find it hard telling the difference between the overo and the tobiano (sp?)and then with the frame etc. I could never be a paint breeder or showie as I could never retain everything I read (or make sense of half of it lol).

Could you add a picture? Would be mighty helpful!

I find it a bit tricky at times but the overo is solid colour along the topline and the splotches are a more regular rounder shape in the tobiano (there's more to it than this.)

I will take a pic of squirt in the morning and put it up.
Thanks for the input
