I'm going o/s this year, and not sure I can make it in time for Aachen in the first week of July. What are the other big horse shows in July/August throughout Europe/UK? I think Dortmund is another big one? I realise the Olympics are kind of going to get in my way in terms of getting to see the best horses and riders over there...

Hi Cybergirl,
I'm with you on this one! We're going next year for my husbands 50th birthday so he a can go to a 3 day car festival at Goodwood in July...(yay????)
So we are trading off!!!! He can go go to a car thing, and I'll go to a horse thing!!! So I'd also like to know what's on at that time...July/August...either in the UK or Europe.
Does anyone have any websites they can suggest? I just need to get a feel of what is on and when....
Many thanks,
A.

Hi again Cybergirl,
I had already found this website in my research, which seems to include some good info for the UK at least....
www.equinetourism.co.uk
Have a look...it can't hurt!

I'm going to the World Cup but that's in March lol!

Really can't wait! I don't have any horsey friends and a week of dressage is a bit much to subject my other half to so i'm going it alone!

Thanks Sierra...is there any site I can look at for the auctions too? We figure if we are going ot be over there we may as well make a big trip out of it....????? I could always buy a "pony"...LOL!!!!
Swish...you are very brave...I'm only going because we will be travelling with friends who have lived in the UK and who are extensive (and obsessive!!!) travellers.
Have you travelled before?
Good on you!

"are extensive (and obsessive!!!) travellers."

Sounds like me - especially the obsessive bit. Let's just say, I will never try to work out how much money I have spent on travelling and airfares - it would be scary but it is not a waste; will never regret it.
What about a visit to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna or the schools in Portugal, Spain and France?
