Does anyone know where my sister might find breeding boots to use on her mares while breeding so that they won't injure her stallion if they kick?

i think your talking about breeding hobbles if you are be extremly careful using them as i had a arab mare sent for service and see fell with them on and broke her leg so we had to detroy her which was very painful for us.I dont belive in hobbles as once the mare is right in season they should stand and squat for the stallion.if the mare is a kicker then she is not ready.

Hi, you can have the breeding boots you want made up at Marsh Carney
Saddleworld in Scone. (They will mail order) That's where we got ours and although we rarely need to use them they are very handy if you get an ansy outside mare.

excuse my ignorance but what are breeding boots? Are they just leather boots that go over the hooves? What sort of sole do they have?
