Here's an old one of my boy...this is Uffy (well...it's short for fluffy - and he was a Bobby, then my OH called him Stupid, and well, Uffy sounds better)! His registered name is Our Gold Man, he won $30000 on the track, and I am convinced he was retired as he got too big to get around it, as he is JUST shy of 17hh...and in full show condition 625kg...

This was taken on our honeymoon (yes we took the boys on holiday with us - and it was Xmas hence the antlers!), I had only owned him four months. He was a condition score 2 when I got him (another case of poor OTTB ends up with someone who 'can't afford to buy but can offer a home with lots of love', just a shame they couldn't offer lots of groceries....). Just before I got him, he was being ridden around the streets of Warwick with his ribs and hips poking out by a couple of fat kids...the girl who owned him owed me some money for fixing her car, and the rest they say, is history!! He is a lovely boy, was green as grass but honest, and is the love of my life! We have competed in hacking, dressage (even beating Felicity Cribb in a Novice test once!) and jumping. He will have a go at anything, and is currently teaching my beginner neighbour to ride (he just gives me the sad brown eyes when she climbs aboard and says...not beginners for lunch AGAIN Mum!). Mind you he has his OTTB issues, separation anxiety that was so bad originally that he used to rear and bolt to get back to the other horses, the usual anxiety issues like digging to China when tied up and breaking into a sweat at the mere thought of anything exciting!! But we have worked through it all and I am glad I persisted with him as he is a wonderful soul - and the best $150 I ever spent.

And no laughing at the beach towel...went 200km on holiday and forgot my saddlecloth!!

This is TJ. Racing name "Our Tejay" He raced til he was 8, had something like 58 starts. I didn't find that out til after i bought him. He didn't do much after racing. A bit of bush riding and thats about it. Then I bought him. I've had him 3 years and there has been a lot of blood sweat and tears, times where I wanted to sell him for a dollar. He isn't one of the "easy" OTTB. Very opinionated horse and like any typical male everything has to be his idea.

When I first bought him (this was a good day)
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh54/sexyritzy/TJriding.jpg

And this is Feb of this year
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh54/sexyritzy/TJ%20February%202011/TJ1.jpg

And one of him jumping hehe
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh54/sexyritzy/193.jpg

Since February everything has just kinda "clicked" in our dressage work. We've been able to lift and shorten his frame up now and get some amazing swing. I just don't have any photos.

The last photo on my post of the young one I had for a while is also by Fraar. His race name was Confraadential :-)

It may interest you to know that Fraar is still alive and doing well at 23yo (IIRC?) although he has been retired from stud duties for a couple of years.

SexyRitzy, that jumping photo is just beautiful :)

I posted these in the other thread, but I'm so proud of my girl I'll take any chance I can get! :)

This is her eleventh ride after last racing in 2008 and then sitting in a paddock for three years before I got her. She is just brilliant, and so honest, with so much talent. And at a smidge over 17h, she is not a horse that goes unnoticed!

He spent his entire stud career at Lindsay Park Stud and will be living out his days there. (FWIW, Lindsay Park Stud changed its name to Cornerstone Stud a few weeks ago)

Well this is my first thoroughbred (grew up on QH crosses) by the name of Kenoath (yes, as in f**ken oath!) and he just has the most superb temperament.

He was bought by the previous owner at the Red Centre Yearling Sales in Alice Springs, raced in Adelaide and Alice, won about 10k on the track then got chips in his off fetlock so was retired. He was then spoilt rotten for the next 4 or so years, did a bit of adult riding club in Alice (I think) until I rang a mate of ours in Alice asking if he knew of a horse for sale and this is what he recommended.

I just love him.

http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k546/JustPlainMad/Drunken%20Oath/Kenoathy010.jpg
Not bad considering he hadn't been worked in about 10 months and I'd done stuff all riding in the past 2 years.

http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k546/JustPlainMad/Drunken%20Oath/RodzandKenoath018.jpg
with my OH on board. OH found him difficult to ride as he has stuff all balance and Kenoath stops as soon as you're even a whisker out of balance, I don't mind this one little bit though.
