Hi fellow illawarrian, fairly new to this but have noticed you are tackling alot of the same issues as I, Ticks, Berrima xc day etc.
  3. Ooooh I did not mean to be confronting! I am shallow just like everyone else...really The sonnet just tickled me given the similarities some draw between lawyers and hookers. Also describes the madness of being drawn into believing what clients say to you

I love amongst other things a bit of mysticism, mythology and archaelogy. Have a soft spot for the old gods...particularly Anubis

Was 40 when diagnosed and am 46 now (in December). Just vetted clean. Lot of people here on that journey.

I dabble in riding. Do not have the "spare neck in pocket confidence" of my youth but would like to jump and do dressage. Iggy is a real FEI possibility so shame I am not

You sound interesting. Where are you? Have interviewed P&W people before (have been a journo and an ADF creature in years gone bye)

I found this on the internet re the Sonnet 147
"Shakespeare's scathing attack upon the morality of his mistress exemplifies their tumultuous and perplexing relationship. The three quatrains outline the poet's inner struggle to cope with both his lover's infidelity and the embarrassing self-admission that he still desires her to gratify him sexually, even though she has been with other men. The poet yearns to understand why, in spite of the judgment of reason , he still is enslaved by her charms. Confused by his own inexplicable urges, the poet's whole being is at odds with his insatiable "sickly appetite" for the dark lady. He deduces in the final quatrain that he surely must be insane, for he calls his mistress just and moral when she obviously is neither. Not until later sonnets (150-1) do we see a change of tone and a cool-headed acknowledgment of the recklessness of the whole affair."

Thanks for your reply Regards Steffani

    Hello Mel,
your post is impressive and confronting. I had to read Sonnet 147 before replying, the Sonnet is insightful and revealing.
Your Knowledge of Anubis is appreciated. The breast cancer event I hope is behind you now. I felt an emotional thud on reading that. I consider myself analytical and logical in my approach to life.My emotions have only been compromised a few times in my 59 years of existence and that was many years ago.
I do not ride anymore I am a spectator of the ability and skill of dressage and jumping. The years take a toll.
I only work on a casual basis now with NPWS on the Discovery Program, that is the promotional and educational significance of our natural environments.

Hello Mel, I am new at this forum activity, just a question, Anubis Egyptian God of the Dead and mummification? Is that correct? What is the significance of the quote at the bottom of your posts? It seems very deep please forgive my curiosity if it is out of place.

Do you still ride? If so how does that feel? I have had some experience with remote first aid so the lack of feeling set of alarm bells. My only fall was from an ex race horse and it was more a roll out of the saddle onto soft grass, only my confidence was dented.
    Regards Steffani

What is a good Italian restaurant in the gong? Something with a pasta marinara to rival Leichhardt? Going for lunch Tuesday and want to know where to go. Thanks! Pamela

Thanks for the police post Mel, it is a lovely thought and appreciated. I don't post on here anymore because I am over the cat fighting, but I still read a lot of the posts and learn! It is always sad when we lose someone, you know, I rarely look at our job as a threat because most jobs we go out on are routine. I even occasionally hope for a bit more excitement on days that are passing slowly! i get scared sometimes, and other days I feel a bit proud of the things we get to do. Funny, I just can't imagine doing anything else. Ok gotta do some farming! Take care and as always, love your posts!!! Amanda
